Construction PROJECT MANAGER

Construction Management, Contract Negotiation, Engineering Review & Coordination

This 250,000 SF, ground-up residential tower was built atop historic Empire State Building steam pipes, Amtrak and MTA subway lines. With 42-storys and 233 apartments, the glass curtain wall and limestone-clad tower includes retail space, a pool, gym, rooftop lounge, and outdoor spaces. The building was completed within a $115M budget and a 27 month schedule. The structure rests on three dozen caissons — some of which are 85’ deep — to displace the building’s load beneath and away from train lines.

This was the first skyscraper project for a long-time real estate developer in New York City, who was able to afford the project with a blended union- and non-union labor crew. My team and I worked collaboratively to manage our team of 400 people, some seasoned experts and others fairly novice. We explained drawings, oversaw construction, and resolved design disputes between engineers, designers, architects, and tradespeople. Through these processes, we ensured a safe project, met code, and saved money.
